Very sweet handicapped female blue quaker needs a new home. She was a rescue that I got several years ago. She was in a very bad breeder situation with another quaker. Both birds were sick and skinny and the other person was frustrated because they weren't breeding. I got both birds out of that situation and it turns out they were both female. Both birds were badly mutilated and this little girl has missing toes. Not clear what happened to her, but she is missing the tips of all of her toes and it hinders her climbing and gripping ablility. She is perfectly healthy now and is very friendly. She can be a bit nippy, but is pretty gentle compared to other quakers I've worked with. In the years that I've had her, she has gained weight, is now perfectly feather and perfectly healthy. I've put a lot of care and effort into getting her healthy and loving again, so I want her to go to a great and loving forever home. She comes with food and her cage with several specially selected "thick" perches for her special footing needs. Her adoption fee is $200. This rehoming fee reflects the cost of her cage, vet bills, and rehabilitation costs over the last few years. I am not selling her- this is a legitimate rehoming/adoption fee. I am not exactly sure of her age, but I was told she was 2 years old when I got her 3 years ago. So she might be 5 years old, or may be older. I rescued her with the intention of rehab-ing and rehoming, so I have never really considered her "my" bird. She doesn't have a permanent name, but we have always called her "Little Bird". She gets excited when we call her that, so it may have stuck. She does make some noises and mumbling, but no real talking that we can see. She comes with her cage, special perches, toys and whatever food I have left. Please email if you are interested.

I have a quaker parrot that Ive have had over 6 years. He's been with me many differant places Ive lived. At this time I am no longer able to have any pets at all, Im lucky to have a roof over my head.
He's a very special bird. Hes not a loves everyone kind of pet, he will bite at most people if they try to mess with him. He would be best with someone who knows birds and wants to take the time to work to bond with him.
He loves me to death, I can do anything with him, which makes me so sad to have to give him up. Weve been through alot together. I used to be able to take him outside unclipped and hed fly around me and land on my head(many years ago. Hes gone on 3 hour cross country trips on my shoulder just visiting, even through drive throughs. Gives kisses, talks, loves to groom you and be loved on when your his buddy(not before.)
Right now my brother has been helping try to figure out a way to keep him but theres just no options Im finding that can help us stay together. :( He's been staying with him for around 2-3 months and hes going absolutely nuts as hes NOT a bird person in the least and would love to rather just fry him up for dinner rather then listen to him squak.
He was used to being allowed out of his cage all day long home or not, and he just stayed on his cage. Now hes been locked up in the cage for 2 months and isnt very happy. He must be covered at night if your home. He hates to be left uncovered when it starts to get dark as its his bed time. He will let you know when its time for bed.
Hes USED to all inds of situations with me. We once had a resort and people would come and go all the time and he didnt really care as long as they dont crowd him. Used to kids, people, etc. Just dont try to let others handle him.
Im putting down everything that I think may help him find the most suitable home as the worst thing I can think of is him being mistreated or passed around from home to home...he couldnt handle that. Please email with some info on your family and why you think he would work with you as a long term to life time pet. He deserves the best of the best. Asking a 150 fee to the right approved home. He has his cage on wheels with play top, all his accessories, etc. He HATES new cages and toys, so I would ask that you do not email me asking to take just the bird...he would be SO stressed losing his home, and the only thing that makes him feel safe. If your a bird person, you would know this. Thanks
